Gona do it in photoshop =P
So I'll post a link to it when I'm done hehe. Don't know how its gona turn out but hopefully it'll be somewhat decent!

a refrence for a character i made up during school, i put a few facts about him and stuff

his name means celestial star in kikuyuy

I play pretty much any LoZ or Mario game...except for the Toon Link games...? I never...liked them...

Ah yes it's coming out some time next year >w< It's kinda far away but I'm just so happy to hear they are making a sequal!

And ahh yes! They're also making a new Zelda =D Hmm the more cartoony one's are alright but not as good as others...

This is a very beautiful tryout! I love the details here, and how you did the grass!
You seem to have a fairly good grasp at shading and use of oekaki tools, and the concept of this is really nice <33

So onto crits: the tree trunk looks very thick and the texture doesn't seem very tree-like. I wish you'd gone over the details with a smaller brush, just like you did on the canid (and you did an awesome job on fur, I must say) so the grass, tree texture and the leaves of the treetops would be more defined.

The stars claim my attention at once because of their strong contrast towards the dark sky. Just a tip: try not to distract the viewer subconciously off the main object (in this case, the canid, I presume) with very strong contrasts (sky colour versus stars, or the moon).

The anatomy looks fairly good; You seem to have a good grasp upon proportions, but be careful with the size of the torso compared with the neck! Canids usually have a lot of fur on their neck, so be careful with making the neck a lot slimmer than the size of the torso, unless the canid is short-haired.

But overall, an amazing tryout, and I can see that you spent A LOT of time on this, without looking at the timer.

The fact that you put so much time and effort into each tryout is wonderful! And it really shows!

You obviously know what your doing with the oekaki tools. And your shading in both tryouts is great! I think you could have done a bit more with the tree though..more detail and more defined shading. But overall the subjct matters blend well with eachother and I like the depth that you've put into the background.

wow, first time drawing horses? i know a bit about horse anatomy because i ride and i draw them from time to time and ill tell you that this is incredible for a first time drawing a horse. XD is this a tryout? if so id be glad to critique it for you ^-^ i love the shading and the colors though, great job

yes Mara is right, i dont think youd have to tryout either haha. but id say in for sure, you have a really cool style. i like how you just used one basic color in each of your tryouts. they were both very unique and you pulled them off well

I've been looking for some place to doodle and noticed that weazie was back? I used to be accepted on advanced a couple years back, but yeah. I'm too lazy to do a real tryout, but I did this little doodle. If it's... not intermediate enough, I can go doodle somewhere else pffft I just want a place to come every now and then. Also... timer lies a little bit pffft I've been watching TV

not sure if im actuauly in but, this is very good,the shading seems to match and all, the antomy seems a little off, but im not good at drawing humans so i will leave those crits to someone else

oh wow, the amount of detail you put into this is incredible. its a very cute idea as well n_n i also do not have much knowledge on human anatomy so i won't critique you there. i love the softness on most of this, but some edges seem a little sharp. for example, on thumbelina's arm and on top of the thread. perhaps you couldve softened those lines up a little to help the rest of the picture flow with the softness of the background. i think you're doing great though, good luck!

It's nicely textured and shaded, but the anatomy is a bit off. Some of the lines are jagged, and, well, the tomato pin cushion is a bit funny looking. If you're aiming for the top of the pin look, maybe look at some pictures, or if you have one in real life, look at it? The baskets nice, too, and the shadings nearly perfect. I do say the clothing is a bit funny looking though, around the shoulders and that right knee. It's nice, though. Good luck.

chainedfox: hehe I'm not the greatest at human anatomy either, but I wanted to give it a try.
Taz: I definatly agree with what you said about the jaggedy lines. I think at some point I just grew bored of this picture and... got lazy

but I'll try harder next time! (maybe xD)
Puppy: yeah, as i said before, I'm not the greatest when it comes to human anatomy. As for what you said about the pin cushion, my mom has one, and I tend to push the pins all the way in so you can only see the top...haha :D. I agree about the clothing too, and I'm usually good about how clothing looks... *fail* lol

Oh gosh I love how the shading came out in this one! You really get a feel for the muscular structure on the legs! Also the background works quite nicely. I think you could have done a bit more with the body though. It seems to be lacking a bit in form...But overall I find the subject to be rather unique and an interesting character. I'm gona vote in~ I feel you could improve with anatomy and shading but based on the shading here and the anatomy in your first I think your intermediate enough =]

I vote out. Tryouts should be larger. This may have detail but it's very messy, at the same time. The muscle tones are nice, I suppose, but he other tryouts look like scribbles.

I'm not going to critique the anatomy here, but your tryouts seemed a bit flat. I really would've liked to see the shading better defined...and that's all I'm going to say right now because I'm lazy.

For now I'm going to say borderline.

Try making the canvas bigger so you have more to work with.
I like how the character is interacting more with the background, but he needs shadow underneath him, and there is very little shading on most of the body.
Cell shading is hard, since it makes it easy to leave unshaded areas, this is why I like watercolor, because the shades just form gradients naturally rather than having to make them color by color.
I say 3rd, seriously, we really want intense shading, it will add so much more.
