Though actually I'm commissioning someone and wanted to draw up a decent ref :3 And was waiting for the guy who's commissioning me to approve his lines or not. xD

Niji just seems like a melancholy character, so the mood suits him. I like the pictures, they have a lot of emotion, and the subdued tones of the solids here.

Yeah, I'd say you're totally allowed too. Glad you made it in, your tryouts were awesome. :]

This is really nice looking too. I love the warm, firey light source. You got the lighting on this done pretty well, I must say.

The fire looks somewhat realistic too, which is cool. I love the animal creature things, and your line art. Nice scenery too! I love to see interesting scenery incorporated.

This actually looks like a scene out of some animation. It's very nice.

I hope to see more neat stuff from you. n_n

Sorry for the longlonglong pause in between tryouts! D: My old tablet broke but HERE I have a new one!

this one will hopefully have a better composition than tryout numero uno.. and if I get accepted, you'll probably be seeing alot of this guy xD

Self Critique::

Should've added more details to the ground so that it didn't look so much like water

Nose seems to be at the wrong angle

The wrong leg's knee is much higher up than the other

Note: The buildings were intentionally crooked. Don't critique that. x3

This is absolutely gorgeous. I adore the coloring. You must have had the worst hand cramp, from alll of that. The rainbow, the lighting, the folds. Everything. It's all making my drool and admire. I'm also diggin' the dreads, and the clock tower.

I do see a few things that need to be worked on however. Your anatomy is pretty good, but the arm should be a little longer. Our finger tips should reach the middle of our thighs.
Also, with the sun being the main lighting, and considering where it is, the back of your character should be really dark. The arm you did pretty accurately as far as the shading goes, but just remember, the sun light would be hitting the front of the person strongly, not the back.

And another thing I noticed was. The ear sticking out the most, shouldn't be showing that much, considering the angle of the head, and how you can see the muzzle.

But really, that's all I can see. I really like the scenery, and the coloring. It's really eye catching. Plus, the characters design all in all is just really lovely!

So.. IN. Definitely in.
