I just wanted to encourage anyone who might have been holding back on the tryout process, or maybe haven't even thought about it before.

You can learn about what areas you're good at, what areas you can further improve on, and how to improve (if we have that knowledge lol).

It feels weird doing self portraits...

It's been a bit more than a year-and-a-half since I joined Weazie, and I wanted to draw this to show my appreciation for everyone's support. All the encouragements I've received have really helped me to grow. I hope to do the same for everyone else..

Help me with anatomy tips, guys!!!

Well, something that helps me is those line to circle things. Like, draw the head and whatnot, the make a line for the neck, a straight line vertically for the shoulders (add circles at the end), etc etc. But other then that, look at yourself in the mirror and see the lengths of your arms/legs maybe. :0

urk.. I feel like anatomy is my weakest link...

But the best piece of advice that I've received is to practice drawing from real life -- like people eating during lunch or walking by in the mall. It doesn't have to be a perfect sketch. Just get some general idea of proportions and what not. Posemaniacs.com has an exercise that makes you draw different poses in under 30 seconds with that idea in mind. If you want to fiddle with nitty gritty details, use yourself as the model in front of a mirror.

Of course, guidelines help to keep everything balanced, but general knowledge of human anatomy will always be necessary. (I'm still working on it...) Taking an anatomy class would be a bonus, but not all of us have that kind of leisure / ambition.

Uhmm...Ugh I don't know what to critique ;-; The pose looks prettyful and the lighting on everything's done fine, along with the shading.

Welcome to WO c: Hrmmm lessee 'ere...

I really like the coloring c: the shading looks nice (especially the hair -drool-)

The background is a little... lacking. I mean it fits in the picture but it's just very simple. I would have like to seen a little more.

The pose looks good and I like the proportions c:

I'm not sure what kind of technique you used for your shading, but it seems to have caught the lineart in some places and that looks a little sloppy to me :c

Also the.. brown whatever she's sitting on, is undeniably lopsided e-e It's probably not a big deal but it bugs me a little for some reason.

But overall I think you have good skills and I like your simplistic style so I would saaay... mm.... In. Yeaaah. I would say you're intermediate enough.

Really the only thing lacking is the background :T

I really like that catfish looking pink fish on the left. I think the coloring and shading is done quite well that it looks 3D @w@

I also appreciate the highlights on the subject's skin, especially around her torso since it makes that area really pop and seem more realistic.

I would have liked to see some shading in terms of the shadow cast by the subject onto the object she's sitting on and shadow on the purple fish from her foot too...

Nonetheless, the simple style is charming and easy on the eyes.

Wow! You have such a cool style, -was watching the animation- It looks like this was done entirely with the pen tool with size pressure? NICE!
I especially am fond of the textures on the clouds and the trees, and though how you color isn't crisp and clean, it fits your style perfectly! Definately IN. ^^
