Okay I'll be semi-back now but I think I'll still be off DA for the most part so I wont change my journal over there
Of course to announce my return I use horrible eye bleeding colors but I guess it's to show myself that IM ALREADY ALMOST 14 AND I STILL HAVEN'T GONE BLIND after being on the internet for I don't know how many years.
but
I'll be going to Dave and Busters for my birthday with most of my old classmates
but yeah
what happened the past week was
like my old post said, I got suspended Friday through Monday, then on Monday the principal sent my mom an email extending the suspension until I got counseling (just because I have a morbid sense of humor he thinks I'm a disturbed child) and then my parents pulled me out of the school and got me enrolled into an online school and in the past few days I've been obsessing over neopets and I've gotten a little over 60k just by playing games
If I could watch myself I bet I'd look so sad sitting around in my PJs doing nothing all day
I might take a few like, really cheap neo sketch commissions
but I don't know how much to charge
cause I don't really think anyone would wanna buy my art

Anne: my brother's doing this homeschool too and my mom really likes it, we both tried homeschooling with this one other program last year but it didn't work at all cause the system was all messed up but this ones better so I think it'll work <: I'm not that social anyways so I won't miss the company as much as he does

And about neopets I'm actually not really that good at games gdgjdsklj When you look at my high scores everything is Novice and Beginner I'VE SRSLY JUST BEEN PLAYING A SH!TLOADA STUFF and all 300 and 500 neopoints magically start adding up
its really trippy

My school should really do something like that. The school has to cut back on chalk and all this stuff because money's running low. And it does every year fdgfsd. One year we didn't even have white printer paper, so everything was pink, green, blue, etc.
Honestly, it sounds like it would be a lot cheaper to do all the classes online.

Toasteh: Yeaaah but you still have a change because they did send you an invite, and they probably aren't looking for geniuses and it's your schools fault for not giving you better curriculum if that's the problem
Yeah Korean is hard, I think it's mostly the pronunciation and stuff though cause I looked up something about learning the writing system and it's not nearly as hard as Chinese or Japanese because it's more of a compilation of consonants and syllables put together into little squares which is really cool but that's where it gets weird cause sometimes in the little syllable square things they'll have more than on consonant or vowel

Moo: Yeah really schools should really start using computers more it's only like good private schools though, but last year when I was on an online school one of the major problems my mom had with that particular system was that if the internet was down you couldn't do any of your work but this one sends you text books which is good for mom bad for me but it all works out in the end.

It's not that bad though I'll still get to see my really good friends

morbid humor, the one girl was talking about jumping off a rock and dying and I just put I'd laugh if she did cause I really don't like her

I only draw them when they are attractive people
and they aren't in viewing distance so they can't look over and see that I'm drawing them :I

I was drawing this girl, because I loved the way she was sitting, but then her friend sitting next to her caught me XD
usually I always expect people to be like "oh ewww you're a creeper, get away. stop looking at me"
but her friend actually came over, looked at the picture, and then demanded that I draw her instead ha ha. (this was also in the same class so I didn't really know her that well either) Later I had a mob of girls asking me to draw them while we were waiting for the final bell of the day. It was scary.

I'm taking gym this year to get it over with and it's terrible lol

Especially with my asthma it's kinda hard when she asks us to run around the track.

THDHFHSDH There are not really any nice boys in my class, or in the school generally, either they look like they're eleven or they just have that doofus-face of a cocky goof.

My mom doesn't like that I keep my drawings a secret...I usually only show my friend (singular) if anyone at ALL.

god i hate shi painter
i've hardly used it so i probably will for a while...

does anyone have this problem? When I try to do a stroke with the pen it gets really choppy and stops too late. anyone know how to fix it?

I haven't had that problem, because I haven't used the pen tool in forevvverrrssss

shi painter pro uber lags on me so usually I never finish my stuff I make with it :I

at least not completely in the program.

Sometimes/most of the time the pen pressure button refuses to work. Or the box with all the options wont open anything after I open pen pressure. But it will still close boxes, which makes it a PAIN. = A =
I only like shi painter pro for the layers...but they don't quite make up for all the lagg and I usually don't end up using them anyways.

ugh betty the same thing happens to me

I have to open all the boxes beforehand and hope i don't accidentally close them.

It doesn't just do it with the pen tool...it's with all the brushes, even the eraser. I guess it's something about pen flicks idk.

I like the textures in Pro but I guess i'll just use shipainter.

If I recallllll you hold down color and click...textures and you get a little window thingar :I
But I don't remember if they're...the same...
EDIT: Okay, they're the same...textures. :I Shi really sucks sometimes, it takes a little experimenting...and I'm no pro with it so sldfkjsdf

I've never really had any friendships with them cos I'm too scared to take the intiative, so if something starts it eventually...well, extinguishes.

But I really like how you use texture, like that hatching around the kiddo. colours too, i love the grays and pink.

watercolors and solids are hard, I recomend just using black watercolor on a high pressure in order to make them blend better with the rest of the colors, also, you should put some blacks in the rocks somewhere, else the rest of the objects look faded compared to the character. Her torso and legs look alittle too long, her knees should be visible. and pehaps zoom in when you're working on her face so you can smooth and fix all the details.

Other than that, I really like the composition of this, and the pose looks very natural, good luck on your next tryout ^^

I agree with Anne, the black lines seem to make the character stick out too much from the background and make her seem harsher. I think that the sky and the water are well done though C: I especially love the clouds

for your next tryout, I would like to see feet? XD
the water kind of conveniently cuts off part of the figure.

If you have some trouble incorporating a figure with a background, I would suggest thinking of an action for the character to do in an environment -before- you even start sketching, so you can plan out how they work together. It usually helps me think of ideas XD
whenever I don't think of an action first, it always looks kind of funky.

I would go with what anne suggested about the blacks, and also take it on another level and add in more contrast in your shading for all elements. (rocks, water, and figure). Good contrast between light and dark when incorporated with blending and shading can really add depth to a picture, especially when you have a background.
