I'm going to be fostering/possibly adopting a bird (: He's a 2 year old Pearly Conure named Lucky, if I formally adopt him I'll probably change his name though. My cousin had a fish named Lucky and when he moved we changed it's name to Ucky because we didn't like our cousin lol
We still have to arrange a pickup time though I'll post pics when I get him

I'm in the mainland now?? it still doesn't feel like it though.. xD;
flying + me.. not the best of friends..
5 1/2 hour flight starting at 11, and getting only 30 minutes of sleep for the whole time isn't necessarily my idea of a good time. Being a bit of an insomniac even without all the people, cramped up chair space and airplane noises definitely doesn't help things out.
I got to watch the sunrise from the plane though

that was pretty cool, pic related cause that's kinda what it looked like. just with the wing in it.
But yeah we flew Honolulu to Phoenix, had maybe an hour layover, and then flew from Phoenix to Albuquerque, that one was only like.. 50 minutes which was nice.
I took a 2 hour nap later.. that helped a lot xD but yeah the air.. is definitely drier and there's a loooot more brown.. the air is thinner too which is weird. it'll take some getting used to but I'm looking foward to everything being cheaper lol xD

omg mara i forgot to tell you about a dream i had a few days ago where our families went to this weird ~gathering~ (almost like a con, but not... anime based...
but we met each other and you were really nice and my parents left me alone so your family had to take me home
and i tried to talk to you about this make-believe person's tryout on WOA, but you were so like "oh my god why are you talking about this right now you big nerd" and i was really embarrassed

but that was my dream with u in it...
i hope... i hope you enjoyed that

no they were pretty awesome, we got to ride in your mini van and you had like... two younger brothers or something that sat in the middle and we sat in the very back
and i just remember seeing your dad because he turned on the air conditioning and he was wearing a yellow polo shirt >w<

I have an older brother but I'm the youngest and now that I think of it I think my dad like.. never where's yellow xD he wheres lots of polo shirts though

today I had my first fall !
It wasn't bad though luckily
we were doing bareback (we had the pad though) and I was cantering and went around a turn and I leaned too much to the outside, wasn't holding on enough with my calves, and I was trying to get him to slow down a bit and I collapsed forward because it's a bit of a bad habit of mine.. I've gotten better with it but it still pops up here and there. Anyways she told me he went into a fast trot instead of a slower canter.. and of course gravity took its course and I landed on the ground. It was actually an ideal first fall though cause 1. soft ground cause it rained yesterday 2. it was off a pony, we were in a field sort of area too though so there was no railing to hit either c
And best of all it didn't hurt (probably will later but oh well xD) I was a little shakey afterwards but that's it, thankfully he stopped for me though so we didn't have to chase after him. we tried it again after but we stopped before the turn that time lol xD
I kinda expected I'd fall soon though cause I've been riding for about a year now.

That and my mom's coming today so we're gonna go pick her up at the airport, then on the 5th I'm gonna be in New Mexico yaay! Hopefully the air isn't too insanely dry though that'd suck
I'm not sure how long I'll be out there but it'll be fun going somewhere new for once

congrats! now you're a real horse lady.

one of my horse friends says "you're not a real horse person until you fall off!"

Personally I've fallen off more than I can recall. Most of them were on my ass. But I was lucky enough to land on my feet 4-5 times LOL. It was in the round pen and my horse kept veering at this one point and i'd like.. do a flying emergency dismount.. super badass. She did the same thing in the arena once and i nearly landed on my feet but fell onto my butt.

4 falls in roundpen, 1 in arena, 1 in the corner behind the arena, she spooked and pivoted, i fell on my ass with my foot still in the stirup. Thankfully she didn't bolt....good girl. One where the pasture is now, I was cantering in circles waiting to go on a trail ride or something and I might have been bareback, and she veered off (shes super sensitive, It probs wasn't her fault.) Unfortunately this was a time where I fell on something hard, and my butt was super sore for a while... haha... other than that idr.... I usuially get up immediately brush off and get back on because I don't like to be fussed over if i'm injured... it probably has to do with my ego..ha.

Luckily all of my falls have healed themselves, I haven't (to my knowledge) been stepped on or over (after a fall), either.

Though I have had the displeasure of being stepped on by a 1600lb draft horse. :3

I'm sure the pidgeons and chickens don't like getting stepped on by her though.

Rye; Oww ;A; Yeah that must've hurt really bad.. It reminds me of one time when I was little and was walking on the lavarock and I slipped and landed right on my tailbone and it hurt really bad, just like.. 10x worse >o<
And with the stirrup thing I was just watching a video a couple days ago where a jockee fell of the horse during a race and his foot got caught but the horse just kept running ;A; poor guy
And yeah my instructor helped me back up, after telling me what I did wrong lol
we did a little more cantering but we stopped before turning that time =w=;;
But yeaahh the fast trotting definitely doesn't help.. especially when you're a little off balance to begin with.
Ouch again about the draft horse Dx Poor birds too ;A;
and my instructor actually said the same thing about not being a rider until you've had a fall. I can now tell where I landed though =w=;; it still doesn't hurt that much but I can feel it over by my left shouler/neck area

Tiger; nooo xD different kind of riding lol
I can't say I've ridden that kind of pony yet uwu;;

Mydnite; Yeah I thought it'd be worse myself but it really wasn't that bad o: it may partially be because I have high pain tolerance but yeah, I'm just glad I landed their and not over by the tree owo;; sticks would hurt no matter how good I am with pain..
I wouldn't necessarily wish for a horse war story though xD but I guess it's kinda cool now that I can actually tell one lol

aaahh! the first of many i'm afraid! i've fallen off so many times djhfdks but eventually you get used to it.... unless it's uber serious, it's just a case of, ok, i fell off, what do i do? get back on... i admire you for being brave though haha
wow i haven't ridden bareback in years....

mine have never been that bad, but i remember once i was about to canter when my horse lost its footing and fell on its side, and almost crushed my leg, but it was ok because i skidded along the floor, haha

REALLY hardcore if it did land on your leg ;___; that reminds me of my old riding instructor, one time she said her horse spooked and he spooked and tried jumping over a fence funny and she landed in a water trough and the horse landed on top of it >o<
