So this is my first re-tryout ^^ Very late giftart for a friend.

Yes, I know the background is lazy, but I promise to do a full-on background on my next tryout.

Oh wow! Love the background!

I would like to see darker shadows though due to the darkness of everything else, that way the highlights would stand out more?
Overall though, good job XP

Oh this is lovely lighting and the tones in the background are great, there's just a few problems with the anatomy. I'll edit this comment when i finish a redline.

Oh and since it's night I think that the shading overall on the dog would be a lot darker. Here I see a lot of gradient shading which wouldn't really apply in this situation, a dark night with of course light coming from the firecrackers, which I see you've created with the tones.

Also, be careful about pillow shading! 8U

This looks really nice! I think I have an idea to help you get a firmer grasp on form and shading. Maybe do a few sketches of things your comfertable drawing. Then just shade them with one color to practice form. Your shading is lovely color and blending wise but I think you get carried away with that part sometimes and lose the basic form of what you're shading. Like for instance, the neck on the character here has lovely blending, but it's inaccurate. I hope you understand what I mean!

By the way, I love the textures you used in the sky (: It looks almost smokey
